People sometimes ask me if my prices are negotiable. Here is my pricing philosophy.....
I believe I am just as, if not more deserving, of retail pricing for my birds than
most pet shops. I do not get to close my doors at night and go
home. I do not get sick days, days off or vacations.
I often work long hours and sometimes around the clock. I am on
call 24/7 for my clients who are often at my home.
Yes, I am sure you can find a bird cheaper elsewhere. You will
however be hard pressed to find a
bird of the quality you will get from me.
I am not aware of a pet shop that feeds the very best high quality seed
mix and Roudybush pellets. I know none that actually cook for
their birds or provide fresh fruit and veggies.
My birds are lovingly handfed and socialized, get medical attention and are not forced
weaned. They are happy jolly souls.
I
have purchased high quality breeding stock in the rare mutations
available, including Opaline, Double Violet, Orangeface and Edge
Dilute to name a few.
I provide accurate lineage
information and continue to improve my bloodlines.
I do occasionally have sales. I offer payment plans and a discount for purchasing more than
one bird, but my prices are not negotiable.
I make amazing pets for people..(and future breeders) ..that is what I do!
Thank you!
Diane
LOOK
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING:
Willa is the sweetest little angel of
a lovebird that I have ever met.
I completely adore her. The thing
that I like the most about her is that she gets along fine with
the other birds, even the other female lovebird Joy, has accepted
her, but she would rather be with me...She likes to play for a
little while, then she wants to cuddle into my neck.
She is also the most beautiful
lovebird I have laid eyes on. Kind of plain looking until the
sunlight hits her, then she simply glows....You do a great job
with your birds.
She keeps asking for a boyfriend,
but I tell her to wait until she gets older.....I look at your
site alot, your new little ones are adorable....Keep up the good
work.

Pet Peach Face Lovebirds
For Sale...
The warm weather is here and with it more chances of an
accidental escape. NOW is the time to take me up on my free wing and nail
clipping service. Call or email for an appointment today!
Peach Faced Lovebirds are considered to be the most popular of all the
lovebirds. More than likely it is due to their wonderful personalities and their
beautiful appearance. They come in almost all colors of the rainbow. You can
even say they come in so many different color combinations that it is sometimes
hard to pick which you like the best.
Basically this is a large parrot in a little body. Like the larger parrots it
does have the ability to mimic and will imitate noises and whistles. They do
not, however possess a great ability to speak. It shouldn't
be said that don't speak, they can speak but it is very difficult to make
out at times. With practice they get quite good at speaking short sentences.
Unless you are willing to teach your lovebird to speak you should not expect it.
It is my opinion that the females speak much better than the males but again
there are exceptions to this. These birds love to climb and will often be
seen hanging upside down in their cages they also love to preen. They are little
clowns. A preener toy is essential for these birds.
Lovebirds are small birds that do not require much space. However they do
like to fly so the larger the cage the better. A wider cage is better than a
taller one as it provides more room to fly and for toys. Consider getting them a
play gym and make sure they have time outside the cage to flex those wings.
Cage bar spacing should be no more than half an inch a part. Lovebirds are not
nearly as messy or as noisy as a parrot which makes them an attractive
apartment
pet. The can even be potty trained. With proper care the Peach Face Lovebird may
live over 20 years, though the average is around 15 years.
An all pellet diet is generally considered too low in fat for a Lovebird so a
high quality seed should also be included in the diet. Lovebirds should be given
fresh vegetables. Favorites include corn, peas and string beans.
The Lovebird has gotten a bad reputation as being mean. That cannot be
further from the truth. What you get out of your bird is comparable to
what you put into it. I will admit however, that it is my opinion
that all lovebirds will nip their owners once in a while. I am not saying
a "make me bleed" kind of bite, but they will nip here and there.
Also females sometimes become more aggressive after reaching sexual maturity at
approximately 10 months old. They seem to go through stages. You can
minimize the times you are bit by recognizing the signs and I will be happy to
share the techniques I use to maintain dominance.
Lovebirds make cheerful friendly loving companions when bonded with people.
They can be easily taught many tricks and thrive on the attention you provide.
It is not true that lovebirds must be kept in pairs. The best pets are
those that are kept alone with lots of contact with people. If you do not
have the time however to spend with your bird, it is wise to get it a
companion for its well being. They are social creatures by nature.
Our Lovebirds are pulled from the nest box at approximately
fourteen to eighteen days old. They are then handfed and remain in the
brooder until feathered out. After that they spend almost the entire day
playing in birdie village or on someone's shoulder. It is at this time they are
listed for reservation and usually only spend time in the cage at night to
sleep. They are used to being bathed and grow up surrounded by the normal
goings on of family life. They accompany me on errands, are introduced to
new things everyday and each and every one spends quality alone time with me.
They are well socialized!
We take great pride in our birds
and the offspring they produce.
We strive to make the perfect pet and believe that the time
and energy we put into our
babies is what makes us stand out.

LIST
- To make things perfectly clear, if your name does not appear
on this list I am not holding or planning on holding a bird for
you. The waiting list fee will be deducted from the cost

What are the benefits of being on the waiting list?
-
This guarantees you get the choice of passing or taking the next baby that
becomes available (from Little Wing Aviary babies not babies being listed for
friends) for sale or reservation. Once contacted an appointment must be
set up or your decision to pass or take the baby offered must be made in a
timely fashion (within 4 days) or we will be forced to move to the next person
on the list.
All babies that will be sold

great way to get a baby in a particular mutation or get first dibs on babies in
the nursery.
The waiting list fee is per bird so if you want more than one you

Paypal account.
Can't seem to choose which one you
would like?
Instead of you choosing your bird why don't you
let the bird choose you. We have found that our birds, if given the
chance will often choose who they want to be with. There is some sort of
connection that is visible if you just look for it. Come to our home and
visit with them. You can sit and play with them in birdie village until
it is obvious who wants to be yours or you meet one you just have to have.
Simply email us and we will be happy to arrange a convenient time for you to
visit.
What will your purchase get you:
Informational emails so you may prepare for your little one to come home
A loyal loving pet to enhance your life
Free wing and nail clips for your purchased bird as long as I am breeding birds.
My support - I am only a phone call or email away for any questions or concerns you may have.
A place for your bird should you have to part with it.
Little Wing Aviary will take back any bird we sell at any time. We feel responsible for what we bring into this world and will provide for your bird if you cannot.
Things that you should know....
Little Wing Aviary
does not sell
un-weaned babies
We offer a health guarantee on all our birds
and test our flock on a routine basis.
All Sales are non-refundable and final.
However, should a situation arise we will work with you to make sure the bird
you purchase is a good fit for you and your family.
We will let you know when your reserved baby is
ready to go home. Any bird ( reserved or buy it now) remaining longer than seven days will
incur a fee of $15.00 per day. Any bird remaining longer than ten days
(unless other arrangements have been made in advance) will automatically be put back up for sale and your payment forfeited. We do
this for the benefit of our birds. The time to bond with your new baby
is when It is young. The longer they are here the more they bond with us
and the other birds and the more difficult it is for them to acclimate to you.
Although some of the time the sex of a
particular bird is obvious I cannot guarantee it without a $35.00 sexing fee.
It will then be DNA tested.
We ship birds through Delta or Continental.
Buyer incurs cost of shipping and transportation/carrier fee
Although rare, sometimes we become aware of a
situation that we are not comfortable with. We reserve the right to
choose not to sell our birds to anyone at anytime. In this case you will
be refunded in full.
Why would you ship a bird and how
does shipping a bird work?
Sometimes it just makes sense to ship a bird in from another place.
If you cannot find a breeder near you and you want a particular kind of bird,
or a sweet hand raised baby, shipping just makes sense. This bird
is going to be part of your life for a long time and you should not have to
settle for what is available in your local area. In fact that truly is
the key - DO NOT SETTLE!
Get what you want. Shipping birds has become very common and airlines are well
aware of the precautions that must be taken to ensure the birds safety. I have
shipped many birds and have not lost any. Considering the lifespan of
the bird is the extra money that it costs to get what you want
worth it or not? Only you can decide.
The bird is introduced to the carrier slowly over
time so that it gets used to it.
After payment is received the flight is booked on a mutually
agreed upon time. I will need your full name, address and phone
number and the airport of choice.
I DO NOT SHIP COLLECT! The Shipping fee and the transport/carrier fee is required to be paid in full before I book the
flight!
I then book the flight. I email you the exact
time, flight number and reference number
On shipping day the bird is put into the carrier with
food and drinking source and taken to the airport to catch the flight.
You go to the airport and pick up your bird at the specified time.
Should you fail to pick up your bird, after a period of
time, approximately a day or two, the airline will automatically ship it back
to me and I must pay the return shipping fee. I cannot stop this from
happening. If this occurs your ownership of the
bird ceases to exist and any payments you have made will be forfeited. In all
my years of breeding birds I never thought I would have to put this kind
of policy in place. It is a shame that one person had to ruin it for the
rest. The airlines will not open the carrier and give food and water to
these sweet birds and for them to remain in the carrier for that length of
time is just wrong. To me, this is animal abuse and I WILL NOT
sell any of my animals to you in the future!
Shipping/Transport/Carrier Fee
-
Want to have your bird Shipped? Then it will require a
airline approved shipping carrier and a flight. Shipping will be arranged
after this fee has been paid. This fee is paid only once
per flight, no matter how many birds are shipped on that
flight.
